Big O Tires was founded in 1962 by a number of independent tire dealers who joined in a tire-buying cooperative in Centennial, Colorado. At the present time, Big O Tires is North America's largest retail tire franchisor, with more than 480 independently owned and operated locations. In 1996, Big O Tires became part of the TBC Retail Group, which allowed the network to spread to 40 states. As of 2005, after Sumitomo Corporation of America's acquisition, Big O Tires coverage broadened further. In addition to auto maintenance services brake, alignment, shock work, lubrication, oil changes, and front-end repair, Big O Tires supplies automobile, mini-van, light truck, sport utility commercial vehicle, golf cart, all-terrain vehicle, lawn and garden vehicle tires, wheels, accessories and much more through its locations based in the US and Canada. The company owns three distribution locations based in Boise, Idaho; New Albany, Indiana; and Henderson, Nevada.
